From Rags To Riches
Women from the community of Payatas, Manila’s main garbage dump, for years eked out a living by weaving bits of cloth dumped by textile companies into multi-colored rugs.
Last year, their lives took an unexpected turn after a group of young professionals formed Rags2Riches.

What were once scraps of cloths that will join the rest of the country’s garbage are transformed into useful and elegant pieces of rugs by the women of Payatas and Rags2Riches. These rugs are made in solid colors and durable cotton or brushed. Each piece went through careful weaving, quality control, and selection.
