The latest statistics show that 1 out of 144 children have autism (up from 1 out of 10,000 just two decades ago).

In my house, 1 out of 2 children has autism. My 8 year old Ryan.

Three years ago, Ryan was diagnosed with Asperger’s disorder, part of the Autism Spectrum. He often experiences sensory overload, where certain sounds and images of TV and radio causes his brain to malfunction. We would often find him huddled in our closet, screaming uncontrollably, and frightened beyond belief. Normal everyday sounds are “fingernails being scratched on a chalkboard” to an autistic child. Most Beautiful Heart

One day, a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart. It was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it.

Suddenly, an old man appeared and said, “Your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine.”

The young man looked at the old man’s heart. It was beating strongly, but it was full of scars, jagged edges and holes. He laughed.
