Chessboxing: Fancy Boxing A Chess?
Nikolay Sazhin almost knocked out his opponent with a blow to the chin in the second round. But he had to take the queen to win the match.
In front of 1,000 cheering fans one recent Saturday night, Sazhin moved his bishop to go in for the kill and won the world championship of chess boxing, a weird hybrid sport that combines as many as five rounds of pugilism with a game of chess.
The combatants switch back and forth between boxing and chess ā repeatedly putting their gloves on and taking them off, so that they can move the pieces around the board without clumsily knocking them over ā in a sort of brains-and-brawn biathlon.
Shooting Hoops Is Easy
Last week, I was playing basketball alone in my court, shooting the hoops. It was easy but after 30 minutes, it gets really boring because there’s no competition. When someone’s blocking me to shoot, it’ll get MORE difficult and there’s where the fun begins. Conclusion, games or sports are not fun if there are no challenges.
I used to whine when I’m facing obstacles for my internet businesses but when I start taking the metaphor of playing a game, Iām no longer that frustrated anymore. If you can treat doing business like playing a game, will you see things differently now?
Treating Your Goals Like A Game
Whenever I have goals or targets, I try to approach it as though I were playing a game. As the game progresses, I strive to achieve higher and higher goals and I try to learn new ways of doing things to help me achieve them.
