Annabel Lee

Edgar Allan Poe Collection Vol. 1Image by microcinema.international via Flickr

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

The Rose

Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razer
that leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you it’s only seed

It’s the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance

It’s the one who won’t be taken
who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
that never learns to live

Inspiration

Inspiration, thou fickle friend
Come in my moments of despair
Forcing the pen onto the paper
Forcing words from my mind

Thou allowest feelings tro go free
However sad I am,
Thou allowest my soul
To reveale itself

Inspiration, thou hast come back
Was it lack of a muse
Or lack of feeling
Thou wast pushed away

Welcome back
Thou, divine inspiration
